You can’t tell from the photos, but it was actually snowing lightly when we took them. Gwen, being the diva she is, wasn’t sure she wanted the hat on her ear. She much prefers her tiara! However, once she understood that it had sparkles on it she relented. She continues to get “curvy”. We had her palpated the day after she arrived and the vet said she was not in foal, but either she is or she’s spending too much time at the round bale! (I suspect it is the latter.) Debra keeps threatening to have her checked again. If she starts bagging up soon we know we are in trouble! Of course with the weather conditions and no indoor arena I haven’t been able to ride her much. Hopefully the new year will bring better conditions. Either that or we’ll get back to riding in the spring.
As always, Gwen is a pleasure to be around. She just makes you smile. We are lucky to have her in our lives, and I think most people who have rescues feel the same way. Gwen knows she has the good life and is appreciative, though demanding. She doesn’t like to stand still (something might be going on she doesn’t know about) and she thinks all space is her space. As you can see from the photo below – the camera might be a treat!
I hope everyone has been having a wonderful, peaceful holiday season. Thank you for following my adventures with Gwen, and may 2014 bring peace and prosperity to all.
